My experience in high school was descent for the time attending. Although in about 10th grade year I began to lose interest in playing soccer and wanted to begin working in order to make money, in order to help with my expenses as much as possible to help ease my mom's financial situation as much as possible. If I could change one thing about school it would be to become more strict regarding the access of drugs, recreational and pharmaceutical.

JISD is a caring district. They are truly concerned with your personal journey through school and want you to succeed in life after high school. The high school has so much to offer between all the college credit and great basic classes I almost couldn't decide on what I wanted to do in high school. The elementary school, Fred Douglas, has been fully integrated into Spanish. Each class Learns the language along with the culture.

Jacksonville High School is a very good school compared to others in surrounding school districts. However, the administration should have better priorities, especially involving college readiness. Often times, the administration and teachers go about solving problems the wrong way, which is frustrating. The staff is kind, and most of the teachers are genuinely concerned about the students and their well being.
