UPDATE: Contractor crews have completed Hot Spot 3 and have moved on to Hot Spot 4. Today’s focus will be on the following streets: Sharon DrCamden DrGreenwood DrElmhurst DrFifteenth StSixteenth StSunnybrook LnPatricia Ln Meanwhile, sanitation crews continue to address the heaviest areas within Tuesday’s routes. Today, our efforts will concentrate on the streets bounded by: W Buckingham RdS Shiloh RdForest LnS Jupiter Rd To date, we have collected a total of 14,796 tons or 29,592,000 lbs of debris.

Over the past three weeks, we have collected more than three times the amount of debris that was collected during the entire two-month period following the 2015 EF-4 tornado. While progress was made along Saturn Rd. this past Saturday, operations had to be suspended due to heavy traffic and safety concerns. We plan to resume and complete collections along Saturn Rd. this Saturday morning. Meanwhile, contractors will continue focusing on the remaining streets within Hot Spot 3, and depending on their progress, we may start moving resources into Hot Spot 4 later today. Today, contractor crews will be working on the following streets: •Evergreen St•Auburn St•Old Orchard Rd•W Linda Dr•Patrice Dr•Kynn Dr•Dale Dr•Charles Dr•Fairfax Dr•Harris Dr•Briarwood Dr•Larry Dr•Skillman Dr•W Daugherty•Glendale Dr•Montier Dr•Tennyson Dr•Delano Dr•Del Mar Dr•Carmen Dr Sanitation crews are ahead of schedule and have completed all collections located north of Belt Line Rd., approximately 60% of Tuesday’s routes. Today, we will be focusing on the area bounded by the following streets: •S Jupiter Rd•Belt Line Rd•W Buckingham Rd•S Shiloh Rd•Forest LnTo date, we have collected 13,935 tons (27,870,000 lbs) of debris.

Today's UPDATE:Sanitation contractor crews are making significant progress, focusing on the streets with the heaviest workload within Hot Spot 3. Because of that, we expect to begin hitting Hot Spot 4 by next week. Today, they will be working on the following streets in Hot Spot 3:•S Fifth Street•W Ridgewood Dr•W Carolyn Dr•Carney Dr•Parkmont Dr•Locke Dr•Larry Dr•Blossom Rd•Treasure Rd•W Celeste Dr•Kynn DrOur Sanitation crews meanwhile, are moving significantly faster on the second pass and have completed about 45% of Tuesday’s routes In comparison to the first pass. Today, our primary focus will be completing the area bounded by the following streets:- N Jupiter Rd- Belt Line Rd- N Shiloh Rd- Buckingham RdTo date, we have collected 13,330 tons (26,660,000 lbs)of storm debris.Please not that regular trash, recycling, small brush & bulky collections, as well as commercial collections, have NOT been delayed and are operating on their regular schedule. And despite Monday not being a regular collection day, contractor and Sanitation crews will be out there working for you.

The North Garland Library is about to get a new look. Today work started on Garland's latest mural. It's expected to be completed Sunday night. Stay tuned.

🌟 Behind our successful sanitation operation is a dedicated Transfer Station and Administrative teams! Small but mighty, these teams consist of about 20 staff members. During Waste and Recycling Workers Week, we want to express our gratitude to the administrative staff who keep things running smoothly behind the scenes.
