After years of friendship, Ben Platt and Noah Galvin’s relationship turned romantic as they spent time together in lockdown amid the coronavirus pandemic.

“Ben and I are dating,” Galvin first revealed during a May 2020 appearance on Ilana Levine’s “Little Known Things” podcast. "I asked him this morning. I was like, 'Are we allowed to talk about this?' And he’s like, ‘Don’t go into our nitty-gritty, but yeah, people can know.’ It’s still relatively new.”

They quarantined together at Platt’s childhood home during the early stages of dating. The budding romance even provided major creative inspiration for both of the actors.

“The song [‘Imagine’] came to me from Michael Pollack, who’s a really brilliant songwriter [and is] my EP on my whole second album … It spoke to me immediately because I recently entered into a relationship this year with my boyfriend,” Platt explained during a June 2021 interview on The Kelly Clarkson Show. “We’ve been together for about a year and a half now. It was really crazy, we’ve been friends for, like, five years and right before the pandemic, we finally decided to, like, really give it a shot.”

Platt proposed in November 2022 after their second anniversary, six months before Galvin got down on one knee.

Shortly before taking their love public, Galvin and Platt hosted a virtual “QuaranTunes Dance Party” via Instagram alongside You alum and mutual pal Kathryn Gallagher, urging followers to all "boogie to the same playlist from our respective quarantines and shake the nerves out together” amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Booksmart actor confirmed the duo’s status during a podcast interview, revealing their romance was still “relatively new."

“Me & my 2020 savior • wishing everyone a much happier 2021 ♥️,” the Tony winner gushed over his boyfriend alongside a hiking selfie.

On Valentine’s Day, Galvin honored his beau, captioning an Instagram snap, “My whole gd ♥️.”

The “Grow As We Go” crooner opened up about the pair’s “beautiful time” quarantining with his parents, Marc and Julie Platt, during an interview on The Kelly Clarkson Show.

The duo held hands in a sweet Instagram pic, with the Netflix star captioning it, “Masc for masc."

The pair made their official red carpet debut while celebrating the Grammy winner’s starring role in the Dear Evan Hansen film adaptation.

The “Leave My Mind” performer kissed his boyfriend in a sweet Instagram snap before calling their romance the best part of the year.

The couple enjoyed a range of water sports together, posing for candid Instagram Story snaps on a jet ski and a paddleboard.

“Happy 2 yr anniversary my king,” the “Temporary Love” performer gushed via Instagram, sharing footage of Galvin baking. “You’re the loml and you make every day special. I love you more than this tahdig & arroz con pollo hybrid you invented.”

The duo dressed up in suits and posed together for a sweet Instagram Story snap on February 5.

“💕 Gay 4 @glaad 💕,” the “Honest Man” performer captioned an Instagram Story photo of the pair when they attended the GLAAD Media Awards.

The “Rain” musician, a performer during the Grammys ceremony, held hands with Galvin on the red carpet at the awards show. While Platt donned a velvet suit, the Assassination Nation actor wore a gray blazer and shorts with a shirt that featured Barbra Streisand’s face on it.

The Merrily We Roll Along actor and Galvin shared a sweet smooch while caught in the rain.

The pair announced on November 25 that they had gotten engaged. “He agreed to hang out forever,” Platt captioned proposal photos via Instagram.

Platt showed off a beautiful ring after revealing that Galvin popped the question six months after their initial engagement. "He proposed back," he gushed via his Instagram Story.

“The chicken bowl on Pandora is to die for,” Galvin captioned Instagram photos from the couple’s Disney World trip, referring to the Avatar-themed attraction.

Platt teased that he and Galvin were beginning the wedding planning process. "We just got engaged a few months ago so we're taking it slow and enjoying the fiancé stage. You only get to have that stage once," he said during an appearance on The View. "He's really cute. I've known him for a long time. We were friends for many years and then I sort of came to my senses halfway through."

The “Bad Habit’ singer continued: “We're just starting the initial conversations about where we want to do it and what the vibe is going to be and how are the Jewish components going to work their way in a familiarly appropriate way."
